A damp cabinet floor rarely starts where you see it. Water travels along pipes, hoses and joists, so the puddle under your sink may have begun two metres away. Our leak-tracing routine finds the true source before a single panel comes off.
Start dry, then run one thing at a time
We dry the whole area, lay tissue at every joint, then run the tap, the dishwasher and the waste in sequence. The first damp spot tells us which circuit is guilty — supply, appliance or drainage.
Feel the hoses, don’t just look
- Bulges, brittleness or green crust on braided hoses mean replace now.
- Dishwasher inlet valves weep only under pressure — test mid-cycle.
- Trap threads loosen with vibration; a quarter-turn reseats most.
Prevention beats mopping
Replace rubber supply hoses every five years, never ignore a musty cabinet smell, and know where your isolation valves are. If water appears faster than a towel can handle it, shut the valve and call us — leaks get priority slots.
